BitMart (BMX) is a cryptocurrency issued by BitMart Exchange, based on the ERC20 token standard, with a total supply of 1,000,000,000. Initially issued as BMC in December 2017, BitMart changed the token name to BMX in January 2018. Despite the symbol name displayed in smart contracts and block explorers as BMC, the actual symbol used is BMX. This change occurred because "BMC" was already in use by another project.
BMX is the native token of the BitMart ecosystem, aiming to promote innovation and development in the global blockchain industry and digital currencies. The token can be used to pay for transaction fees, enjoy discounts, and participate in various activities on the BitMart platform.
The BMX ecosystem is expanding, with plans to enhance token liquidity and play a more central role in the ecosystem's infrastructure, including wallets, DEX, and smart contracts. The long-term vision for the BMX ecosystem is to establish a complete ecosystem encompassing technology, products, and users.
