Background

Yearn Finance began as a passion project by Andre Cronje to automate the process of switching capital between lending platforms in search of the best yield offered. It started by aggregating funds across dYdX, AAVE, and Compound, shifting capital between these platforms automatically as interest rates change.

Key Products

• yTokens: A yield-bearing DAI token representing deposits into Yearn Finance. For example, users depositing DAI receive yDAI tokens, which earn interest.
• Vaults: Yearn’s primary feature allows users to automatically earn the highest yields on their assets by dynamically moving them between various lending platforms.
• yUSD Pool: A yield-bearing USD token pool including yDAI, yUSDT, yUSDC, and yTUSD.

Governance
