Ycash
Ycash is a digital currency, similar to Bitcoin or Zcash. The software for Ycash is based on the Zcash codebase, which in turn is built upon the Bitcoin codebase.
Ycash shares blockchain history with Zcash, with the first 570,000 blocks of the Ycash blockchain being identical to those of the Zcash blockchain. As a result, anyone who controlled Zcash private keys at block height 570,000 can use those keys to access the same amount of Ycash.
Like Bitcoin and Zcash, Ycash has a capped total supply of 21 million coins, preventing inflation from devaluing the currency.
Ycash aims to address the two key problems inherent in Bitcoin: the difficulty of ensuring user privacy and the distribution of coins via mining. By building upon Zcash's codebase, Ycash inherits Zcash's solutions to the privacy problem. To address the distribution problem, Ycash encourages mining on commodity hardware and periodically adjusts its mining algorithm to ensure broader participation. Additionally, the Ycash Development Fund upholds the promise that 90% of the coins will be distributed through the mining process.
