impactMarket operates as a DAO, on top of the Celo network, using cUSD (Celo Dollar) as the main digital currency and $PACT as its governance token, while running autonomously through smart contracts. The protocol has distributed over $1.6 million in Unconditional Basic Income (UBI) to nearly 30,000 beneficiaries living in the most vulnerable communities across 25+ developing countries.
Beyond UBI, impactMarket is focused on providing free access to more financial services, leveraging the Celo network design and its current DeFi ecosystem to drive DeFi adoption and retention by integrating & offering DeFi solutions directly on mobile to those who need them the most.
