e-Radix (EXRD)
e-Radix is a cryptocurrency represented by the ticker symbol EXRD. It is the wrapped representation of Radix's native token XRD on the Ethereum network. EXRD serves as a permanent link between the Radix and Ethereum networks, allowing for 1:1 exchangeability with XRD via Instabridge or at exchanges such as Bitfinex. This token was instantiated in November 2020 as an ERC20 token and is integral to the functioning and security of the Radix network, particularly in Ethereum's DeFi ecosystem.
Tokenomics
e-Radix has a maximum possible supply identical to XRD's, with each eXRD backed 1:1 by an XRD held by a secure third-party custodian. The total supply of e-Radix is fluid as users unwrap eXRD tokens to XRD and wrap XRD to eXRD. The allocation of the underlying XRD token is detailed in the XRD tokenomics.
Purpose
e-Radix allows for a representation of Radix's XRD token to be used in Ethereum's DeFi ecosystem, similar to how wBTC represents Bitcoin within Ethereum's DeFi ecosystem. The initial distribution of e-Radix tokens helped decentralize the Radix Public Network before staking commenced as part of the Delegated Proof of Stake system.
Security and Functionality
The underlying XRD token plays a crucial role in securing the Radix Public Network through staking and transaction fees. Stakers vote on validator nodes, earning network emission rewards, and the top 100 nodes with the most delegated stake are chosen as validators. Transaction fees are used to prevent spam transactions and are 100% burnt by the Radix Protocol.

Radix, the platform behind e-Radix, is designed specifically for DeFi developers. It offers a unique approach to decentralized finance with its asset-oriented smart contracts and on-network Blueprint Catalog, which enables open-source development and the reuse of code. The platform employs a self-incentivizing developer ecosystem, rewarding contributors with tokens for their work. The Radix network features a unique consensus algorithm called Cerberus, allowing for unlimited linear scalability and secure, parallel processing of transactions and dApps.
