VeriCoin (VRC) is a Proof of Stake-Time cryptocurrency. Initially, it was a Proof-of-Stake cryptocurrency with Proof of Work used to mine coins in the early stage. After the MintPal VRC hack and the subsequent roll back, the project shifted to Proof of Stake-Time.
VeriCoin (VRC) is a Proof of Stake-Time cryptocurrency. Initially, it was a Proof-of-Stake cryptocurrency with Proof of Work used to mine coins in the early stage. After the MintPal VRC hack and the subsequent roll back, the project shifted to Proof of Stake-Time.
There is no Pre-mine or IPO for VeriCoin. The minimum stake time is at least 8 hours.
VeriCoin features VeriFund, a mechanism designed to counter the inflationary effects of Proof of Stake-Time. When the supply increases, VeriFund purchases liquid supply of VeriCoin to ensure growth and stability of the coin's value.
Another notable feature is VeriSMS, an SMS wallet system that allows users to access the VeriCoin network through their phones. Commands include "Balance", "SetPassword", and "SEND".
