Stride is a multichain liquid staking zone (appchain) on the Cosmos Blockchain that allows users to stake IBC-compatible tokens and receive stTokens in return, redeemable for the original token at a 1:1 ratio. This maintains liquidity while earning staking rewards. The Stride Token (STRD) is the native governance token, enabling holders to vote on important decisions such as token distribution to validators and protocol upgrades.
Users can stake the STRD token to secure the Stride Appchain. The token's tokenomics are designed to achieve three complementary outcomes: distributing governance power, facilitating social coordination, and building token value. Stride's unique feature is its short inflation runway, which is made possible by its ability to generate revenue from day one through fees on staking rewards.
