Evmos is an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible blockchain built using the Cosmos software development kit (SDK). It enables interoperability between the Ethereum and Cosmos ecosystems, allowing developers to deploy applications that run smart contracts across multiple EVM and Cosmos-based blockchains while ensuring seamless interaction between these different networks. The use of the Cosmos SDK allows Evmos to maintain high scalability, high throughput and fast transactions, making it ideal for decentralized applications (dApps).
The Evmos network leverages the Tendermint Core Byzantine Fault Tolerant consensus engine, which operates on a proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus mechanism.
