Technology
The Shardus technology employs compute and state sharding to achieve high throughput, low latency, and immediate finality while maintaining security and decentralization. This is facilitated by the Shardus Consensus Algorithm, based on Proof-of-Quorum, combined with the Shardus Distributed Ledger, which addresses linear scaling and state sharding challenges.

Shardus Token
The Shardus Token, formerly known as the Unblocked Ledger Token (ULT), is an ERC-20 compliant token. Tokens are distributed as a reward for direct contributions to the Shardus project and are used for licensing the Shardus software. Tokens can be earned by contributing to the project and traded on exchanges by individuals who have earned them.
Applications
Shardus allows for the development of scalable decentralized applications. Examples include Shardeum, a sharded EVM based smart contract platform, and Liberdus, a communication application. These applications inherit features such as scalability, decentralization, efficiency, and sustainability.
