It is a blockchain-agnostic platform designed to meet the requirements of decentralized finance (DeFi) applications. The core of the network is a set of smart contracts that can run on any Ethereum-compatible blockchain, ensuring censorship resistance and various other security properties.
How It Works
Razor Network is comprised of four key components:
- Oracle: A network of stakers who accept queries from a job queue, fetch data from the real-world, process and aggregate the results, and serve them to requesting applications. Stakers are awarded for coherent reporting and penalized for incoherent reporting.
- Job Manager: Prioritizes queries from client applications based on the fees paid.
- Client Application: Any application that uses the blockchain oracle can utilize the services of Razor Network.
- User: The users of the client applications, who may not know that Razor Network is being used in the background to fetch data.
Native Asset and Staking
The native utility token of Razor Network is RAZOR. It is an ERC-20 token used for staking, governance, and various other security purposes within the ecosystem. Stakers must lock their RAZOR tokens to participate in the network and are rewarded with fees and block rewards for their participation. The influence of a staker is determined by the number of tokens they have staked.
Security Features
Razor Network employs a proof-of-stake consensus algorithm and a layered design, making it resistant to various attacks such as bribing, collusion, and censorship. It also has a dispute resolution mechanism to protect both stakers and clients from malicious activities.
