gAsp is a decentralized blockchain that serves as the gas coin for the Aspire platform. Its blockchain is used to record all assets and tokens created on Aspire, along with their transactions. Created using Bitcoin, Litecoin, Peercoin and other codes, gAsp is secured through Proof-of-Work blockchain with real-time checkpoints to prevent 51% mining attacks and double spending. It has 4MB blocks to accommodate more transactions and a block time average of 2 minutes. Aspire, launched in 2017 by Jim Blasko and Michael Terpin, offers improvements on speed, security, and cost for creating digital assets and tokens, claiming it to be five times faster than Bitcoin and the most cost-effective platform in the world. The gAsp mainnet launched on July 4, 2020 with 1 billion premined GASP tokens.
