Fuel Network
Fuel is an operating system purpose-built for Ethereum rollups. It aims to help developers build decentralized economies at scale by increasing the capabilities of Ethereum rollups without compromising on security or decentralization.
Fuel achieves this through several key features:
Fuel Virtual Machine (FuelVM)
The FuelVM is designed to improve upon the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) by incorporating parallel transaction execution and multi-native asset management within its architecture.
Parallel Transaction Execution
FuelVM uses strict state access lists in the form of a UTXO model. This allows Fuel to execute transactions in parallel, tapping into a significantly larger number of CPU threads and cores, thereby increasing transactional throughput.
Improved Developer Experience
Fuel's domain-specific language (DSL), Sway, is built on Rust and offers syntax that leverages blockchain VM functionality without verbose boilerplate. It prioritizes compile-time analysis and safety, similar to Rust.
Integrated Tooling
Fuel's development environment combines the benefits of smart contract languages like Solidity with the novel features of Rust tooling. This includes tools such as Forc, which functions as a build system and package manager for Sway contracts.
Modular Design
Fuel Rollups can be secured by multiple data availability layers, such as Ethereum DA, Celestia, EigenDA, and Avail, offering flexibility in how transactions are verified.
State Minimization
Fuel's unique state model enables better state minimization through native rehydration, trading bandwidth for state access, leading to more sustainable and accessible node requirements for rollups.
Customizability
Fuel's core architecture can be modified by adding custom operations and external calls, allowing developers to build custom app chains that meets specific needs.
Multi-Asset Support
Fuel is compatible with any wallet and any asset type, thanks to native account abstraction and support for multiple cryptographic schemes.
