What is Charged Particles?
Charged Particles is a protocol that allows users to deposit ERC-20, ERC-721, or ERC-1155 tokens (ANY tokens) into an NFT. This technology transforms a scarce NFT (e.g., art, collectible, virtual real estate, in-game item, or any NFT) into a basket holding a number of other tokens. Users can deposit any ERC-20 token or any NFT into any other NFT, including yield-bearing Aave aTokens.
Key Features:
- Non-Custodial NFTs: Charged Particles are minted with an Asset Token (e.g., DAI) and accrue interest via an Interest-Token (e.g., CHAI), giving the token a "Charge". This "Charge" can be discharged at any time by the owner, collecting the interest.
- DeFi NFTs: Users can create digitally unique assets by nesting various tokens within NFTs, allowing for greater programmability and functionality.
- Charged Particles Token (IONX): IONX is the symbol for the utility token of Charged Particles and has been historically used primarily for governance.
What Can You Do with Charged Particles?
- Earn Interest Inside NFTs: Users can create DeFi savings accounts, store royalties, or engage in charitable giving.
- Nesting tokens from Projects or Communities: Users can weave together new NFT utility infrastructures.
- Custody-Free NFT Reciprocation: Users can easily customize NFT configurations, including time locks, discharge, and mass (principle) removal.
- Programmable Charge: Users can determine how to treat the interest, including discharging it to different addresses.
