Inside the Lido DAO network

Lido DAO arose as a solution to staking requirements, particularly on Ethereum 2.0, where users required 32 ETH to participate in staking. Lido simplifies this process by allowing users to participate with any amount of ETH and receive stETH tokens in return, which can be utilized in DeFi protocols.

Governance and Tokenomics

The governance system is based on the number of LDO tokens locked in a user's voting contract. The more LDO tokens, the greater the voting power. LDO tokens were allocated to the Lido DAO treasury, investors, initial developers, founders, validators, and signature holders, with the majority held by the treasury.

History

The Lido liquid staking platform launched in December 2020, and it has expanded to support staking on Terra and Solana. The project has been supported by several well-known organizations and individual investors in the crypto industry.
