Bottos is a decentralized autonomous artist governed by a community of stewards (BottoDAO). It creates 350 art pieces, known as fragments, every week. These fragments are presented to the community, which then votes on them. The votes are used as feedback to guide Botto’s generative algorithm for the subsequent round of art pieces. This process allows Botto to evolve and refine its art style over time.
Art Generation and Voting
Botto uses a variety of generative models, including VQGAN+CLIP and stable diffusion models, to create the fragments. Each week, the community votes on the most aesthetically pleasing fragments. The top-voted fragments are then minted as NFTs and sold on SuperRare, with half of the proceeds going back to the community.
The art creation and voting process is split into consecutive periods of 13 weeks, with the option for Botto to upgrade its models and add new capabilities at the start of each period.

The community plays a crucial role in shaping Botto’s art style by voting on the fragments. This collective feedback helps the algorithm learn and adapt. Additionally, the community influences the direction of the project by voting on themes and models presented by Botto for each period.
