ASTRO Token

The ASTRO token is the native token on Terra 2.0, utilized for governance and fee distribution within Astroport. Users can stake ASTRO to unlock fee sharing and governance capabilities over the protocol. The total supply of ASTRO tokens is capped at 1.1 billion, with the distribution designed to give the wider Terra community a majority say in Astroport's operations.

Token Distribution

The token distribution is structured as follows:

• 133 million ASTRO (12% of the total supply) are allocated to the community
• 45% of the supply is reserved for Astroport Liquidity Providers (LPs), to be distributed over 69 years
• 16% is allocated to the Astral Assembly
• The remaining tokens are designated for Astroport Builders, with a 3-year lockup period

Governance and Dual Rewards

Astroport's Dual Rewards system distributes ASTRO tokens to LPs through ASTRO Generators and proxy contracts. This mechanism allows for the dual distribution of ASTRO and third-party tokens to LPs. To integrate Dual Rewards, developers must deploy a liquidity mining mechanism, a generator proxy contract, and submit a governance proposal to the Astroport community.
