About Stack

Ranks Explained

Stack analyzes over 50 different price, exchange, social and developer metrics.

These metrics are then computed into simple ranks to make spotting good crypto investments and comparing assets easier.

Each one is a percentile rank (out of 100), where 100 is the best. The overall Stack rank is then calculated by combining each individual rank.

The ranks are likely to be most useful to longer term investors who want to beat a simple Bitcoin holding strategy. As a very simple example, here's what holding a portfolio of the top 10 assets by Stack rank would look like (purple) vs Bitcoin (orange):

The Momentum Rank is a ranking system based on price momentum. It measures the strength of trend in price relative to other assets.

The idea is that assets that are strongly outperforming their peers may continue to do so and thus could represent a good investment opportunity. It is calculated by looking at:

  • Relative price stength vs the market
  • Relative price strength vs Bitcoin
  • Distance from 52w high
