Skycoin is an advanced blockchain platform built by early contributors to Bitcoin and Ethereum which uses its own distributed consensus algorithm, Obelisk. It is extremely fast with no transaction fees and is energy efficient, allowing it to even run on 30-watt processors. Its primary goal is to promote the actual usage of cryptocurrency. Skycoin is also home to Skywire, Fiber, CX, Sky-Messenger, and BBS which are all designed to create a decentralized internet at the hardware level, promote storage, computation, and messaging services.
