Sifchain is a decentralized exchange designed to facilitate cross-chain transactions across a wide array of blockchain platforms. Built using the Cosmos SDK, Sifchain inherits the cross-chain capabilities of Thorchain and uniquely leverages pegged tokens to support these transactions. The platform aims to integrate 20-25 of the top blockchain ecosystems, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polkadot, and others, enabling users to access a broad range of cryptocurrencies.
Governance
Sifchain employs decentralized governance through SifDAO, which is inspired by models like Compound, YFI, and Synthetix. The goal is to transition governance power to the community and maintain true self-sovereignty. The platform will utilize market-based performance evaluation and on-chain crypto-economic incentives to optimize its development and ensure self-funding and sustainability.
Security
To ensure the security of the Sifchain ecosystem, the core development team will lead the development and deployment of each bridge. The team aims to provide the same security guarantees across all bridges, potentially using the ROWAN token as collateral or creating a dedicated token for these peg zones, depending on market conditions.
Consensus
Sifchain employs Tendermint's consensus engine, with validators staking their own ROWAN as well as ROWAN delegated by other holders. The top 115 validators with the highest stake comprise the consensus set, ensuring the security and reliability of on-chain trading.
Development
The platform is designed to simplify blockchain integration for the open-source community, reducing development costs and barriers. It will also engage the market through tools like alpha bonds to optimize its development.
Peggy and Peg-zones
Sifchain's cross-chain infrastructure is based on the Peggy and peg-zone design. Each peg-zone is a system that manages assets and bridges them across different blockchain networks. This architecture allows for seamless cross-chain transactions and manages liquidity pools.
