Overview

Serum is a trustless, functional, and decentralized exchange that enables cross-chain transactions. It operates on both the Solana and Ethereum blockchains, running the Solana blockchain SPL token standard and Ethereum blockchain ERC-20 token standard.

Token

The Serum token, SRM, is the utility and governance token for the platform. It grants its holders governance rights to the protocol, protocol rewards, and discounts on trading fees. SRM can be used to earn passive income through staking rewards and can reduce trading fees by up to 60%. Additionally, holders can participate in on-chain governance and vote on updates to certain parameters of the project.

MegaSerum (MSRM)

MegaSerum (MSRM) is a token consisting of 1,000,000 stacked SRM tokens. It provides larger benefits to holders compared to SRM alone.

Tokenomics

10% of the total SRM tokens are unlocked initially. The remaining 90% follow the same unlock schedule, which includes a one-year lockup period and a subsequent six-year linear unlock.

Fees

All fees collected by Serum go to the benefit of SRM tokens. The fees are returned via a buy and burn mechanism and potentially through staking rewards or ecosystem grants. This increases the overall value of the SRM token.
