Privacy System
Railgun uses zk-SNARKs technology to encrypt wallet balances, transaction history, and other details, ensuring users can remain private while using public blockchains like Ethereum. It protects transaction information by utilizing private balances that conceal sender, receiver, asset, and quantity details, keeping users anonymous to outside observers.
Tech
The system leverages zk-SNARKs to prove ownership of tokens without revealing the buyer's identity. It also takes advantage of the 0zk address technology to secure wallet information, allowing users to spend tokens privately.
Components
Railgun Integrated Wallets
The Railgun smart contracts can be integrated into any new or existing Ethereum/EVM wallet using the Railgun Wallet SDK. The system includes various wallets and tools:
- Railway Wallet: A user-friendly wallet available on web, desktop, iOS, and Android.
- Terminal Wallet: An open-source command line interface (CLI) wallet.
- TokenShielder: A frontend for shielding assets from any Ethereum/EVM wallet.
Developer Tools
The system provides TypeScript SDKs for building Railgun privacy into existing or new wallets or a privacy-enabled dApp, allowing users to create a non-custodial Railgun Wallet with a private zero-knowledge address for shielding and engaging in DeFi activities anonymously.
