Phoenixcoin
Phoenixcoin was founded by Phenix Crypto Systems Network Inc., a company owned and operated by John Carmiche (JohnCar) and Michael Burns (iamatrix). The first block was mined on the 8th of May 2013, but it wasn't released to the public until after about 20,000 blocks had been mined, resulting in a pre-mine of approximately 1 million coins. Originally named Phenixcoin, it was intended for use in various projects by the founding company, such as Phenix Poker and Phenix Safe Trade.
On the 11th of July 2013, Phoenixcoin joined with Feathercoin and Worldcoin in establishing the UNOCS (United Open Currency Solutions), an alliance aimed at joint development and promotion. Unfortunately, the alliance ultimately broke apart due to poor development and project management following Feathercoin's withdrawal.
Phoenixcoin is a decentralized, open-source peer-to-peer digital currency that uses a fast and reliable system for international money transfers. It can be mined with a variety of hardware configurations. The community is actively involved in Phoenixcoin's development, maintaining transparency and encouraging contributions.
In terms of usage, Phoenixcoin requires a digital wallet to operate. The wallet stores transactions and allows users to send and receive coins, query their balance, and participate in the peer network. There are no central authorities controlling the operations, as the entire system relies on peer consensus to facilitate global transactions.
