Founded in 2019 by a small team of startup founders and software engineers, Perpetual Protocol evolved from its early days as "Strike." The project changed its name to Perpetual Protocol in the summer of 2020 and transitioned its primary focus to perpetual futures. Today, the team includes members from around the globe, with a thriving community governed by the Perpetual DAO.

PERP Token
The PERP token is the native token used for staking, earning rewards, and amounts to voting power for platform updates. In addition, PERP tokens can be used as an insurance fund or "exchange backstop" in the unlikely event of losses on the platform.
