0xBitcoin (0xBTC) is a decentralized ERC20 token built on the Ethereum network, leveraging the soliditySHA3 hashing algorithm. This project combines the principles of Bitcoin's original whitepaper, ensuring a fundamentally sound and trustless currency.
0xBitcoin's core concept is to merge the scarcity and fair distribution model of Bitcoin with the speed and extensibility of the Ethereum network. It was deployed in February 2018 without any pre-mine or ICO, with a total supply of 21 million tokens. The difficulty target for mining adjusts based on the Proof of Work hashrate, and rewards decrease as more tokens are minted.
