It is a digital dollar backed 100% by highly liquid cash and cash-equivalent assets so that it can always be redeemed for US dollars on a 1:1 basis. The majority of the USDC reserve is invested in the Circle Reserve Fund, a registered 2a-7 government money market fund. Circle Mint allows businesses to mint and burn USDC tokens by converting between USD and USDC. This process ensures that USDC maintains its stable value relative to the US dollar. USDC is currently supported natively on 16 blockchain networks, including Algorand, Arbitrum, Avalanche, and others. It is widely used for global payments and financial markets due to its rapid and secure transactions.
