Ontology Gas (ONG) is a utility token used for on-chain services within the Ontology blockchain framework. Ontology is a high-performance, open-source blockchain specializing in digital identity and data. It provides new high-performance public blockchains that include a series of complete distributed ledgers and smart contract systems. The framework supports public blockchain systems and can customize different public blockchains for different applications, ensuring collaboration amongst various chain networks through its protocol groups.
Ontology adopts a dual-token model with ONT as the coin and ONG as the utility token. ONT is used for staking in consensus and is the primary means of both storage and transfer of value on the Ontology network. Fees and transactions on the Ontology network are paid for using ONG tokens. By staking ONT, users can contribute to the security and stability of the network and earn ONG rewards.
