Moonchain (MXC)
Moonchain, founded in 2018, is a decentralized data network that leverages blockchain technology and the Internet of Things (IoT) to enable simplified and increased IoT data transactions. The project is built around the Machine eXchange Coin (MXC) and the Machine eXchange Protocol (MXProtocol).
Network and Protocol
MXProtocol plays a crucial role in reducing network collisions, creating an inter-chain data market, and developing a network coverage market. It also introduces an independent Quality of Services (QoS) framework for both data providers and receivers. The protocol is designed to empower Web 3.0 and blended reality metaverse infrastructures, simplifying and increasing data transmissions and participation.
Data Network and Monetization
The data network is built on the concept of a sharing economy, where users and enterprises can participate in constructing a decentralized, ubiquitous, and secure LPWAN by connecting devices and monetizing the network. There are two primary methods of monetization:
- Increasing uplink and downlink coverage via gateways.
- Providing access to a vast network of published and traded data to the marketplace using blockchain technology.
Mining Community
The network relies on a robust mining community using Low-Power Multi-Token Miners, which are interconnected to build a global LPWAN data network. This allows individuals and enterprises to engage in device provisioning and IoT activities while ensuring GDPR-safe AI and blockchain non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Token Overview
The MXC token is an ERC-20 utility token used for device transactions within the MXProtocol. It enables the publication, sale, and trading of IoT tokens and data on an inter-chain NFT marketplace.
