Mover is a decentralized, permissionless, and trustless network that serves as the first bridge between EVM networks and Aptos. It has a hybrid architecture featuring light client verification and a network of nodes employed in secure multi-party threshold signing. This design aims to achieve maximum security and enable swift introduction of new blockchain to the bridge. At launch, Mover will use light client for cross-chain messaging with supported EVM blockchains and for non-EVM chains, swap transactions will work via nodes performing secure multi-party computation to achieve consensus. Over time, different entities, including core developers, community members, and other Aptos ecosystem stakeholders, will operate MPC nodes.
