The ixo protocol defines a new open standard for producing verifiable claims about changes in the state of the world, which are the basis for creating Impact Tokens. These tokens are non-fungible units of value that represent real-world outcomes, such as social, environmental, and economic impacts. The Internet of Impact has potential applications in the areas of Sustainable Decentralised Finance (Sustainable DeFi) and Impact Verification, transforming how we finance, implement, measure, value, and create markets for sustainable impact.
Community currencies implemented through the Internet of Impact can drive outcomes towards local social and economic development goals, inclusively and sustainably. Impact Tokens can become the new standard for measuring, verifying, reporting, and valuing impacts through marketplace mechanisms.
Technical Overview
The ixo protocol allows anyone to deliver, evaluate, or invest in sustainable development impacts with crypto-economic proof. Projects create, own, and share impact data as digital assets. The IXO cryptographic token provides access to digital services and participation in the Internet of Impact ecosystem. Staking rewards are generated through new token creation, with rates decided by network governance. Prediction Oracle services independently evaluate and verify impact claims, issuing certified digital credentials that can be used to mint Impact Credits.
Ecosystem
The Internet of Impact network will give users access to trustworthy information and financial tools to invest and spend their money sustainably. Impact DAO Cooperative and Launchpad demonstrate how networks can work together via advanced DAO decision-making and governance tools. Tokenized Impact Producing Entities, such as renewable energy infrastructure, can be encoded as digital twins with provable identity credentials, enabling sustainable investments and community development.
Impact and Use Cases
Alphabonds are an adaptive financing mechanism for programming capital into social, environmental, economic, and climate outcomes. Digital Impact Credits can be used to finance projects and offset social, environmental, economic, or climatic debts. These credits can be integrated into various financial transactions, capital allocation, government expenditures, business processes, or consumer products.
