Interlay Project
Interlay is a decentralized project that allows users to earn passive income on their Bitcoin while keeping control over their private keys. The project is operated by a globally distributed, permissionless network that ensures best-in-class economic security through collateral insurance.
Governance
Interlay is governed by the community through the voting power of its governance token, INTR. Token holders participate in governance by voting on proposals and staking INTR to earn staking rewards. INTR is also used for utility purposes, supporting transaction fee payments.
Architecture
The Interlay architecture consists of four primary actors: Vaults, Reporting, Users, and the Governance Mechanism. Vaults are collateralized intermediaries that hold Bitcoin and issue interBTC tokens. Reporting monitors Vault activity. Users can create, use, and redeem interBTC. The Governance Mechanism ensures the correct operation of the system. Interlay is built on cutting-edge, peer-reviewed research and operates on Polkadot as an interBTC parachain.
