It allows individuals and organizations to build and run wireless networks using a token-based incentive. The main token for the network is HNT, with IOT and MOBILE tokens supporting LoRaWAN and 5G networks respectively. The Helium Network provides a distributed wireless network, is known for its scalability and security, and supports numerous use cases, including IoT and high-speed mobile connectivity. It uses a unique consensus algorithm, Proof-of-Coverage, that rewards participants for verifying network coverage. The project aims to continually grow and revolutionize wireless communication. The IOT token is used as the Governance token for the LoRaWAN IOT subnetworks, mined through data transfers and Proof of Coverage.
