Gravita Protocol is an ETH-centric borrowing protocol designed for liquid staking tokens (LSTs) and yield-generating assets. It allows users to borrow assets interest-free using liquid staking tokens as collateral.
GRAI is the debt token of the platform, which can be minted by depositing collateral on Gravita Protocol. The protocol's primary goal is to promote decentralization, particularly for Ethereum, by supporting high-quality minority LSTs.Key Features
- Interest-Free Borrowing: Users can borrow GRAI interest-free, with a one-time fee paid over 6 months.
- Productive Collateral: Borrowing against LSTs still allows users to earn underlying staking rewards.
- Decentralization: Supports a diverse range of LSTs to maintain separate positions for each and promote decentralization.
Protocol Mechanics
- Vessels: Users can select a Vessel, deposit an asset as collateral, and borrow GRAI up to a maximum of 90% of the collateral value.
- GRAI Token: GRAI can be redeemed for collateral, creating a hard price floor.
- Governance Token: Gravita has plans to introduce a governance token, GRVT, which will be used for governance and may provide benefits such as boosted yields and reduced fees.
