Fractal is an open-source, zero-margin protocol defining a standard for the fair and open exchange of user information. It ensures a high-quality version of the free internet by focusing on confidentiality and allowing users to securely share and monetize their data. The protocol aims to address market problems such as duopoly control, unattributed ad-tech costs, and web traffic from bots.
Fractal ID
Fractal ID is an interoperable decentralized identity system designed for web3. It facilitates user verification via KYC, AML, and human liveness checks while ensuring compliance with data and regulatory standards, including GDPR regulations. The platform is currently building idOS, the identity layer of web3.
Founders
Fractal ID was co-founded by Julian Leitloff (CEO) and Júlio Santos (CPO) in 2017. Leitloff received his master's degree in Corporate Management & Economics and gained entrepreneurial experience before getting involved in blockchain in 2015. Santos is a technical manager, software engineer, and entrepreneur who has founded several projects before becoming the co-founder of Fractal.
Functionality
Fractal is powered by the utility token FCL, which coordinates and connects all involved parties around the Fractal Open Advertising Economy. FCL does not generate profit or grant voting or ownership rights but ensures a consistent demand for tokens, which helps facilitate the growth of the ecosystem.
