Description

f(x) Protocol Fractional ETH is a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol built on the Ethereum blockchain. The protocol creates two new ETH derivative assets: Fractional ETH (fETH) and Leveraged ETH (xETH).

f(x) Protocol Fractional ETH is a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol built on the Ethereum blockchain. The protocol creates two new ETH derivative assets: Fractional ETH (fETH) and Leveraged ETH (xETH).

fETH is a low-volatility token that tracks the value of ETH but with significantly reduced volatility, making it suitable for users who want a decentralized stablecoin that captures some growth in the cryptocurrency market while limiting its price fluctuations. This enables fETH to maintain a stable value compared to ETH, without being pegged to any fiat currency.

xETH, on the other hand, is a high-volatility token that amplifies price movements of ETH. It provides a leveraged exposure to ETH, allowing users to gain from potential price increases without funding costs or margin interest. This includes zero-cost leverage, which shifts dynamically to balance the volatility of fETH.

The f(x) Protocol is designed to avoid risks associated with real-world assets by using a smart contract and external oracle. The system is backed by a combination of pure ETH and staked ETH collateral tokens. This allows fETH to scale more efficiently compared to stablecoins backed by central deposits. The protocol aims to provide a unique balance between stability and leverage in DeFi tools.
