What is Chromia?

Chromia is a relational blockchain platform, described by itself as a Layer-1 blockchain that can act as a Layer-2 enhancement for Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain (BSC). It combines blockchain technology with relational databases, enabling the creation of scalable and user-friendly decentralized applications (dApps)better suited for real-world use cases.

Key Features

The native token of the platform is CHR, which is designed to facilitate the ecosystem by providing various utilities. The token can be used for several purposes:

• Paying hosting fees for dApps and developers using Chromia
• Serving as a reserve for dApps to peg their native tokens
• Paying fees on hosted dApps
• Earning passive rewards through staking

Token Supply and Distribution

The CHR token has a maximum supply of 1 billion tokens. The current circulating supply is approximately 567.37 million tokens, with a portion allocated to private and public sales, founders, team advisors, ecosystem and promotion funds, and other uses.

Technology and Compatibility

Chromia's programming language, Rell, is designed to be easier to use than other blockchain languages and allows developers to code faster. The platform is compatible with Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), enabling developers to redeploy Ethereum-based applications on Chromia with minimal additional work. Chromia can be used as a public, private, or hybrid blockchain.

Unique Features

Chromia was founded by Henrik Hjelte, Or Perelman, and Alex Mizrahi, who previously founded Colored Coins and developed the concept of blockchain tokens. The project has garnered significant support from prominent investors in the blockchain space.
