Bao Finance is an open-source, community-driven initiative that empowers users with tools to build and interact with omnichain, secure, and decentralized synthetic assets. The project aims to give control back to individuals and create new financial instruments by utilizing data to create markets that were previously inaccessible.
Unlike traditional protocols, Bao Finance focuses on building new features for existing protocols such as Uniswap, SushiSwap, and Balancer rather than reinventing the wheel. This approach enables the creation of synthetic assets that can track the price of various systems, giving users a broader and more diverse range of investment opportunities.
The BAO token serves as a governance token for the community-run project, and it is also backed by the insurance fund, where all Bao fees are directed. This model ensures that the token has both practical and functional value within the ecosystem.
