Hundred Finance is a decentralized application (dApp) enabling the lending and borrowing of cryptocurrencies. As a multi-chain protocol, it incorporates Chainlink oracles to ensure market health and stability, particularly for long-tail assets.
Lending and Borrowing
Users can lend select cryptocurrency assets and borrow against their loan-to-value ratio. They earn variable interest on the supply side and accrue it on the borrow side. The lent and borrowed assets are represented as hTOKENS, which can be redeemed for the original asset plus accrued interest.
Interest Rates and Liquidity
Interest rates are calculated automatically based on demand for a particular asset and the available liquidity. This encourages users to provide funds when demand increases, supporting market health.
Liquidation
If the market value of assets being borrowed and lent changes, making the supplied assets unable to sufficiently collateralize debt obligations, users become vulnerable to liquidation. This involves claiming hTOKENS plus a liquidation penalty by independent liquidators to repay the account's debt.
Governance and Utility Token
The Hundred Finance platform features the native HND token, which will facilitate decentralized decision-making through governance once it is sufficiently distributed among users. HND is distributed to users based on their liquidity provision to the protocol, incentivizing interaction and bootstrapping the project. Additionally, HND can be time-locked to mint mveHND, the governance and utility token that empowers holders to direct protocol changes and vote on proposals across chains.
