B.Protocol is a decentralized backstop liquidity protocol aimed at providing better stability and efficiency for DeFi lending platforms. It pools user funds into Backstop pools, which are used to facilitate liquidations on integrated lending platforms. When a liquidation takes place, the protocol automatically redeposits the profits back into the Backstop pool. Users of the protocol participate based on their usage, and they receive bScores, which determine their share of liquidation proceeds.
How It Works
Liquidation Process
- Backstop Liquidity Pools: Users deposit stablecoins to pool liquidity for lending platforms, such as Liquity or Vesta Finance.
- Liquidation: When a liquidation is needed, the protocol automatically pulls funds from the Backstop pool, auctioning off the collateral.
- Profit Redistribution: After the liquidation, the profits are redeposited back into the Backstop pool.
User Participation
- bScores: Users are awarded bScores based on their usage of the platform. These scores are used to determine each user's proportion of liquidation proceeds.
- Governance: Users with BPRO tokens govern the protocol, deciding on future monetization strategies and policy adjustments.
