Ampleforth
Ampleforth is a digital asset protocol for smart commodity money (AMPL). It features a unique elastic supply protocol designed to maintain a target price of 1 USD. This is achieved by automatically increasing or decreasing the quantity of AMPL tokens in user wallets every 24 hours, which helps to counteract price deviations from the target. This process, known as rebasing, is non-dilutive, meaning that users always own the same percentage of the network regardless of supply adjustments.
The Ampleforth protocol is often compared to central banks but operates in a decentralized manner. It differs significantly from other digital assets like Bitcoin, which have fixed supply and are highly correlated with each other. Ampleforth's elastic supply property makes it less correlated and provides counter-cyclical trading pressure.
