History
Zcash was forked from Bitcoin in October 2016 by Zooko Wilcox. The development of Zcash began in 2013 and was completed by the Electric Coin Company. The initial demand for Zcash was high, and it was traded at an early peak of $5,000 per coin. Zcash has undergone several upgrades, including the Sapling upgrade, which improved efficiency and enabled new core protocol features.
