Zerogoki is a leveraged synthetic asset minting platform that leverages an algorithm-pegging model. The concept "Zerogoki" is a transliteration of "零号機" in Japanese, which stands for the experimental model Unit-00, thereby signifying a prototype. The token REI, which is the pronunciation of "zero" (れい) in Japanese, plays a crucial role within the platform.
Functionality
Zerogoki provides users with tools to obtain leverage on traditional assets like foreign exchange, gold, and bonds. Users can either use the platform token REI to manufacture leveraged tokens or directly purchase leveraged assets with the platform's synthetic dollar, zUSD. This platform is deployed on Ethereum, and its synthetic assets are generated by burning protocol assets (REI). Volatile leverage tokens are then chosen to test the system under pressure.
Background
Zerogoki is effectively a pilot for the protocol from Duet, featuring a "Lite-minting" module. The platform has been designed to run smoothly on the slower and more expensive Ethereum main net, thereby ensuring robustness in difficult conditions.
