ZCORE - Seaweed Residues for Superior Bio-Coatings
The ZCORE project focuses on converting seaweed residues into bio-aromatics, which are then used to develop fully biobased coatings. This project brings together the entire value chain, including SMEs, knowledge institutes, and industry partners. The goal is to achieve 100% biobased alkyd resins, which currently contains 50-60% biobased ingredients due to the lack of accessible bio-aromatics. The ZCORE project aims to increase sustainability and provide potential cost reductions.
