It expands on the role of AMPL as a key building block for denominating stable contracts via an independent, algorithmic unit of account. WAMPL is directly comparable to wETH and wBTC, where it is a 1:1 redeemable token for AMPL but maintains a floating price, unlike AMPL which rebases.
This wrapped token enables new technical integrations and expanded opportunities within the Ampleforth ecosystem, even amidst high gas prices on Ethereum, which previously limited transactions for many users. The AMPL community can now deploy their AMPL with more flexibility, further growing wallets and Total Value Locked (TVL).
