The RandomDAO is a decentralized autonomous organization that functions as a random number generator on the Ethereum blockchain. It utilizes a collaborative system where participants contribute to the generation of random numbers. The process of generating a random number involves three phases:

1. Collecting Valid SHA3 Hashes: Participants send transactions with their secret numbers, accompanied by the SHA3 hash of the number, to the RANDAO contract within a specified time period.

2. Collecting Valid Secret Numbers: Participants who submitted valid hashes in the first phase must then send the actual secret numbers to the contract, which verifies them by recalculating the SHA3 hash.

3. Calculating the Random Number: After collecting all valid secret numbers, the contract calculates the final random number using a function that takes all the secret numbers as input and stores the result.

Participation and Incentives

Participants are incentivized to contribute as they receive a bonus for their participation. This bonus comes from the fees paid by other contracts that consume the generated random numbers. The RANDAO contract also refunds the pledged ETH used during the process. The project aims to provide a reliable and decentralized source of random numbers within the Ethereum ecosystem.
