Swing

The Swing project is a Java graphical user interface (GUI) platform. It is part of the Java Foundation Classes (JFC), and its name represents the collaborative choice of its designers when the project was kicked off in late 1996. Swing is not an acronym, but rather named after swing dancing and Swing music. The platform is used for creating GUIs for applications and applets using various components, such as labels, buttons, and tabbed panes. These components can be decorated with icons, which are fixed-sized images adhering to the Icon interface.

Swing components include JLabel, used to display short strings or image icons, and its characteristics include being vertically centered by default and unable to get focus. It also includes other components such as JPanel for creating panels and JFrame for creating frames. The platform provides a range of functionalities, including the ability to adjust component anchoring and auto-resizing behavior.
