What is StaFi (FIS)?
StaFi is a decentralized protocol designed to unlock the liquidity of staked assets. Its native token is FIS, which serves multiple functions within the network. FIS is used for governance, network security through staking, and transaction fees on the StaFi chain. Additionally, FIS is necessary to mint and redeem rTokens, which are reward tokens representing the original staked assets.
How does StaFi Work?
StaFi is structured into three layers: the bottom layer, contract layer, and application layer. The bottom layer uses Substrate's blockchain framework, while the contract layer allows for the creation of staking contracts for various PoS tokens. The application layer supports third-party APIs and custom APIs to facilitate decentralized bonded asset trading for rTokens. StaFi is a decentralized protocol connected to Polkadot as a parallel chain, ensuring main security and performance.
What are rTokens?
rTokens (reward-tokens) enable liquidity for staked assets. For example, stakers of PoS tokens receive rTokens in a 1:1 ratio. These rTokens can be traded on StaFi and other exchanges, lent on lending platforms, used for derivatives, and redeemed for the original staked token. StaFi initially supports rETH and rFIS, with plans to support more PoS tokens in the future.
