Solid Protocol
The Solid Protocol is a decentralized web project that aims to radically change the way web applications work, focusing on true data ownership and improved privacy. It is a platform for linked-data applications that are completely decentralized and fully under users' control. Solid allows users to have full control of their own data, including access control and storage location, through decentralized peer-to-peer networking. Users store personal data in "pods" (personal online data stores) that can be hosted wherever they desire, and applications can request access to this data with the user's permission. This platform seeks to empower individuals and groups by advancing web standards, enabling data to be stored securely in decentralized data stores called Pods, and ensuring fully interoperable usage across different applications and services.
