SILVA is a comprehensive online resource providing high-quality, aligned ribosomal RNA (rRNA) gene sequences from the domains Bacteria, Archaea, and Eukarya. It is regularly updated and includes both small subunit (16S/18S, SSU) and large subunit (23S/28S, LSU) rRNA datasets. SILVA offers a manually curated taxonomy based on phylogenetic trees and is a part of the software package ARB.
