ScPrime is an enterprise-grade object storage cloud architecture based on a sharing economy model for large, unstructured data. It targets mid-market or small/medium enterprises with a focus on backup and disaster recovery, with potential expansions to include surveillance footage, IoT, medical scanner images, and more.

Technology

ScPrime is built on a layer 1 blockchain using Proof of Work (PoW) ASIC mining and state channel smart contracts. It leverages the original Sia renter-host protocol, employing 256-bit encryption and erasure codes for durability and security. The platform allows anyone to participate as a storage node and earn utility coins known as SCP.

Decentralized Storage

ScPrime provides decentralized storage through a Renter/Host analogy and storage proofs. State channel contracts are formed between parties that identify hard drive sectors on computers around the world, enabling uploading and downloading. Storage Providers are rewarded after a specified period with SCP coins, which are publicly tradeable on crypto exchanges.

Xa Net Services

Businesses use the network through a public service called Xa Net Services (XNS) or XaMiner. Customers do not purchase or interface with cryptocurrency directly. Instead, it operates like any traditional cloud storage company with fiat payment, customer service, and support. Under the hood, the development corporation for ScPrime manages the business and develops software to handle dollar-to-crypto conversions for contracting.

Tokenomics

SCP is a cryptocurrency used in the ScPrime platform for renting and hosting storage. Coins are rewarded on a declining inflation schedule that becomes nearly flat after several years of emission. The token is publicly tradeable on crypto exchanges.

Security and Performance

ScPrime offers high security with a layer 1 blockchain and 256-bit encryption, ensuring immutable, hacker-resistant, and geo-redundant storage. Additionally, the platform is designed to achieve performance and security unmatched in traditional cloud products.

Roadmap

The project roadmap includes ongoing development and improvement of components such as the Relayer, Xa-Miner, and integration with cloud protocols like AWS S3. This ensures cost-effective and secure public cloud storage solutions for businesses globally.
