Shack is a DeFi protocol designed to improve liquidity utilization by reducing liquidity dispersion. It achieves this through the Starfish Topology, which pairs the SHACK token with a wide range of tokens across different tiers, each with varying volatility levels. The protocol allows for new tokens to be onboarded without needing additional collateral beyond protocol tokens, making it more efficient than traditional swaps.
Tier Structure
- Tier 1 (Paired with RADIO): Stable coins (e.g., USDC, DAI, USDT, UST) and native blockchain currencies (e.g., ETH, MATIC, AVAX, BNB). This tier is expected to be the least volatile.
- Tier 2 (Paired with SHACK): Blue chips (e.g., LINK, LUNA, USV, AAVE). This tier is more volatile than Tier 1 but less volatile than the remaining tiers.
- Tier 3 (Paired with BUILD): Mid-stage protocols (e.g., MANA, GRT, ENJ). This tier is expected to be quite volatile over time.
- Tier 4 (Paired with DREAM): Startups (e.g., ECOMM.io). This tier can have even wilder fluctuations than the previous three tiers.

- Multi-Tier Starfish Topology (MTST): Enhances the basic Starfish Topology by categorizing tokens into distinct buckets based on their volatility and pairing them with specific tokens, ensuring more efficient and diverse liquidity pools.
- Improved TVL Utilization: Reduces liquidity dispersion, allowing for more efficient use of tokens in swaps.
- Onboarding New Tokens: Permits new tokens to be added without collateral, increasing the range of supported assets.
By leveraging these features, Shack aims to provide a more efficient and comprehensive liquidity management system in the DeFi landscape.
